Summer Schedule
Class 1: Painting and other Art Projects
Ages 7 and up.
7 weeks 6/24-8/12 (No class July 29 and 30.)
Thursdays, 4:00-5:20 pm
Fee: $175 Summer discount: $150, All Art Materials Included
Quality paints, canvas boards and other art supplies are used so that your child's original artwork can be enjoyed for many years to come.
Project 1 Georges Seurat and Pointillism
Students will explore the art of George Seurat and learn the technique of Pointillism.
Art Project: Create a painting using the pointillism technique.
Project 2 Decoupage
Students will learn the art of decoupage, which is cutting and pasting paper onto an object. This fun art form is not just for kindergarteners!
Art Project: Create a theme then decoupage and embellish a handy container.
Project 3 Repoussé
Students will learn about the ancient art of repoussé, which is a metal working technique.
Art project: Design and create a faux repoussé using a hot glue gun and foil.
Class 2: Studio Painting
Ages 7 and up.
Fridays 4:00-5:20
7 weeks 6/25-8/13 (No class July 29 and 30)
Fee: $175 Summer discount: $150, All Art Materials Included
*Guided independent study rather than structured, theme based projects. The focus will always be to encourage your child's creativity yet also stress a basic understanding of the elements of art such as color, shape, line, value, and texture.
*Students new to painting will also be given a series of exercises to increase their comfort level of the art materials that they will be using.
*Quality paints, canvas boards and other art supplies are used so that your child's original artwork can be enjoyed for many years to come.
